Penn Couples Project

I have a fun opportunity to share! In the last semester of my master’s program, I have a class this quarter taught by one of the two leaders of the world-renowned Penn Resilience Project. (They built and ran one of the best resilience programs for children and for the US Army.)

I am looking for a couple who would be interested in working with me (no charge) for the next 4 months and learning cutting-edge positive psychology tools to apply to your relationship in four areas:

  1. Optimism and love

  2. Using your strengths in your relationship

  3. How we think can change how we love (cognitive skills)

  4. The power of active responding

The time commitment is one hour a month plus applying the exercises in between sessions.

The fine print:

  • Available for the full semester (January-May), and committed to the scheduled sessions. Meetings can be virtual.

  • 1 hour/month to debrief the previous exercise and learn the new one

  • Commit to applying the exercise throughout the month (this should not take much time, though it will require a greater degree of engagement and mindfulness)

  • Not currently depressed or suffering from clinical-level issues.

  • Willing to provide honest feedback during debriefing conversations.

  • Willing to have you write about the teaching experience and discuss it with our class anonymously.
